QEC was established in SZABUL with the task to enhance the quality of higher education. Quality enhancement is considered as a continuous process in any department. The role of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is to put a focused attention on Quality assurance aspect of education and operates for the execution of QA policies designed by QAA/HEC with uniformity of pace and standards. The quality enhancement is a process which enables us to determine new milestones and to set new goals after attaining the previous and achieving the standards near to perfection. The main focus of quality assurance program is continuous professional development of staff, self- assessment report, academic audit and assessment of academic department in terms of the degree programs working within the Quality Assurance Frame Work.
 

QEC OBJECTIVES:

  • Implementation of quality assurance framework prescribed by the HEC to meet the international standards of quality education and research.

  • Establish an effective system of Self-Assessment of the Institute’s Programs with purpose of quality enhancement.

  • Developing procedures and implementing them for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).

  • Assuring that the Institute’s Programs meet the requirements of HEC.

  • Ensuring improvement of the quality of teaching, research and related students/staff support services through internal audit.

  • Taking measures for capacity building of faculty/staff involved in quality assurance processes

  • Collection of Institute statistical data for its ranking by national/international agencies.

  • Promoting collaboration with national and international universities/organizations.

  • Contributing in quality assurance/enhancement of Higher Education at national/international levels.

QEC FUNCTIONS:

    • Promoting public confidence that the quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded.

    • Review of quality standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.

    • Review of academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.

    • Defining clear and explicit standards as points of reference to the reviews to be carried out.

    • Developing qualifications framework by setting out the attributes and abilities that can be expected from the holder of a qualification.

    • Developing program specifications. These are standard set of information clarifying what knowledge, understanding, skills and other attributes a student will have developed on successfully completing a specific program.

    • Developing quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to affirm that the quality of provision and the standard of awards are being maintained and to foster curriculum, subject and staff development, together with research and other scholarly activities.

    • Ensuring that the SZABUL’s quality assurance procedures are designed to fit in with the arrangements in place nationally for maintaining and improving the quality of Higher Education.

    • Developing procedures for the following:

      • Approval of new programs

      • Annual monitoring and evaluation including program monitoring, faculty monitoring, and student‘s perception.

      • Departmental review

      • Student feedback

      • Employer feedback

      • Subject review

      • Institutional assessment

      • Program specifications

      • Qualification framework

      • Annual monitoring and evaluation of academic program, faculty and students.
